Cuyahoga Summit keeps the public environmental compliance record for Cuyahoga and Summit counties in Ohio, the two counties the lower Cuyahoga River flows through on its way to Lake Erie. The record already exists in U.S. EPA’s ECHO database; this site reads it every day, writes down what changed, and lays it out by date, by place and by facility so residents, workers, students and reporters can follow it without learning a federal database.
What it is not
- It is not a newspaper and writes no stories: every entry is a dated item from EPA’s public record, linked to EPA.
- It is not a government office and not part of, or endorsed by, U.S. EPA, Ohio EPA, Cuyahoga County, Summit County or any city or village.
- It makes no findings of its own about any facility and takes no money to add, change or remove an entry.
- It uses no AI to write anything.
Who runs it
The site is built and run by WeldonPC (weldonpc.com), an independent technology company in Northeast Ohio. Questions about a facility’s record belong with EPA: use the “Report Data Error” button at the top of that facility’s EPA report (EPA’s instructions).
